Conservatories, sometimes called sunrooms, are a lovely way to enhance the back or side of your home, bringing natural light flooding in throughout the year.
A conservatory is essentially a glazed single storey extension that sits on either a dwarf wall or features full height glazing, topped with either a glass or polycarbonate roof. The work involves everything from the base and groundworks through to the dwarf wall brickwork, frames and glazing, the roof itself, and connecting it all back to your house. You can choose from styles like Victorian, Edwardian and lean to designs. We’ll sort doors and electrics as needed too.
Most conservatories fall under permitted development rights, which means you won’t need planning permission as long as it’s at the back of your house, stays under four metres in height, doesn’t exceed the width of your home and extends less than 6 metres out (or 8 metres if you’ve got a detached house). We’re happy to run through all the exemptions when we pop round for our free visit.
