Different types of damp

When you’re dealing with rising damp, bringing down the outside ground level can make a real difference. Ideally, it wants to be at least 150mm lower than your inside floor. If that’s not doable, we might suggest putting in land drainage, french gravel drains and tanking the bottom section of your outside wall.
Treatment usually means getting the DPC installed, hacking off the old plaster and putting on fresh salt retardant render, then tackling whatever’s causing the damp in the first place.
